Update 3/3/25 - Please be aware that I do not have Hasleo Backup Suite installed on my pc - I prefer that my backup software be on removable media to save space on my internal drive. This afternoon, I created recovery media and booted from the latest beta version and noticed that this build has the import/export task feature, like the installed version. This allowed me to create a task, execute it and at the end, export the task to a storage area - I partitioned off a 5mb chunk (formatted as FAT) at the end of the recovery USB and stored it there as task.xml. After rebooting, I simply imported the task and was good to go - I did an incremental to test the process and it retained my settings (allow comments..., check the integrity...). Recovery of the images was also successful. This method also worked on a portable version of the program. Yay!! Perhaps an .ini file in the bin or a sub directory so that the file path could be changed as needed? I also support the idea to keep the TaskConfig file in the program's bin folder to keep its portability. Or allow the users to customize the location of this file. RE: Hasleo Backup Suite V5.2.1.0 Released (V5.2 Beta)! - selukwe - 03-10-2025 I'm enclosing some more ideas and suggestions to fine-tune the Hasleo Backup Suite: - allow to manually sort items in the scheduler - allow to disable individual items in the scheduler. Currently, it is possible to disable/enable the entire scheduler only, not indiviual items, which is not very flexible - in Daily schedule type, allow shorter intervals than 1 hour: 30 minuties, even 15 minutes, for those who would need or want it that way, even for testing purposes - the "Check for updates" feature doesn't work. It should properly find any new release, even betas or release candidates, and it should be up to the user to decide which ones to download - it would be good if the program could read the system date pattern and not just enforce 3/9/2025 for backup datestamps for March 9, 2025. My own preference pattern is 9.3.2025. Just let the program read and use the set date pattern from the OS, and not from the used language locations. It seems that everyone has different ideas, maybe being able to configure it is the best option, and we will improve it in future releases. This bug happens when you enable "allow comments when manually executing the backup task" It's not a bug, it's by design. You can specify a comment for each backup version, and the comment you specify when you create the task is only for the first backup version. |
