And a "Universal Restore" function to Restore the Image to any Hardware.

We will implement the ability to right-click on an image to mount it in a future release, and HBS already provides the Universal Restore feature. Thanks.

After you said that there is a "universal restore", i checked everything again.
I  found the "advanced mode" switch. Thanks for the tip

The next "Feature Request"
I can't connect to my NAS in the rescue media. I first had to connect to it via the console using net use so that I could specify \\server\share as source.
Would it be possible to implement this? Or if you enter \\Server\share, the username password window will appear?

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll feed it back to my development team.

RE: Feature REQUESTS - n8chavez - 10-31-2024

Since there has been a beta version of 5.9 with the new, faster, compression methods, I thought it might be worth it to put everything I'd like to see in one place. None of what I've requested before made it into the beta, not that I expect them too.

1. A difference in power options between when an image is restored and when an image is created.
2. Delta restores enabled by default
3. Creating a system backup doesn't select every system partition. The UEFI partition is not selected.
4. Since this new compression algorithm only works with medium compression, perhaps make medium the default rather than high.
5. The ability to fix/rewrite the MBR, like Macrium Reflect. The rebuilt MBR doesn't seem to ever do anything on my system.

The default power option is already set to automatically restart when the operation is done while doing a system restore, haven't you noticed it?
2.  Delta restores enabled by default
Delta restore is already enabled by default in the ZSTD version.
3.  Creating a system backup doesn't select every system partition.  The UEFI partition is not selected.
You don't seem to have reported this issue to us.
4.  Since this new compression algorithm only works with medium compression, perhaps make medium the default rather than high.
The ZSTD version is just a version for performance testing. ZSTD provides several compression levels, and we are still considering whether to replace all compression levels of HBS with the ZSTD compression algorithm. The idea is to use the lowest compression level of ZSTD for the low compression levels of HBS, and then use the higher compression levels of ZSTD for the medium and high compression levels of HBS.

I couldn't find that feature in Macrium Reflect. Note that MBR in the traditional sense only exists on MBR disks, so this feature can only be used on MBR disks, it has no meaning for GPT disks.

I thought we've been over this.  Two options for two scenarios; restart on restore is good but restore on creation is bad.  Right now there is only one option for both situations.

That was not my experience with it.  It was not default.

Correct.  But nowadays  Reflect just uses that term to say "do whatever you have to do to make the system bootable again.  This is an old version of Reflect, but this option is still there in 8 and X.

Are you referring to the power settings in the backup options? Please note that all settings in the Backup options are only used for backup operations, they are not used for restore operations unless otherwise specified.

That's so weird, did you do the restore directly from Windows or from a bootable WinPE medium?

I couldn't find it in the new version. I don't know the intention of Macrium Reflect to provide this feature, could it solve all boot problems? Honestly it's not realistic, or maybe it's just used to solve the problem of not booting after restoring Windows with Macrium Reflect.

v5alpha in its internal explorer shows hidden files, apparently it shouldn't be like that.
The icons in this menu are too pale, as if inactive, I thought so at first.

And to avoid confusion, apparently we should create a topic on v5.

You said “v5alpha in its internal explorer shows hidden files, apparently it shouldn't be like that.”, I'm sorry I don't quite understand what that means, can you explain?
