Worrying about not being able to restore data from an image file in the future is redundant, even if we release the paid version, we won't restrict users from performing restores, and besides, we'll always keep the free version. We are not greedy or controlled by capitalists, otherwise HBS would have already launched the paid version, and look at the prices of our other products, they are very cheap and none of them use the subscription model.

False, data recovery can also be preformed from the HBS application.

In this case, the application reboots the computer into a permanent or one-time WinPE environment, and the recovery is still performed in the WinPE environment.

That only happens if you're restoring a an image containing an operating system to the drive in use IE the C drive.

If you're restoring the drive to another drive such as D: or E: this will not happen. Nor will it happen if you restore files and folders individually. It also won't happen if you restore partitions to the non system drive.

Money is not the issue. The reason I stopped using Macrium Reflect, wasn't because they started charging money for it. It was because they added DRM (anti piracy technology) which hurts the preservation of both the software and the data that was backed up with it.

Take winrar for example. A smaller less sophisticated backup tool that will continue to work.
Regardless if you've paid for it or not.
Regardless if it's outdated or not.
This is to ensure preservation, so that you can still use it in the event of an emergency. This is why preservation is so important.

Charging for software is fine, any software. After all, the developers have to make a living. But what's not fine is using a subscription model and dis-allowing restoring. Both of these things have been addressed by HBS. They will not do either one.

Unfortunately, this is not quite true. While there are no anti-piracy measures embedded into the software. HBS does have a used by date. After about 12 months without updating it will stop working. There is a way around this but it's still not good. You can read more about it here. https://www.easyuefi.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=2327

RE: Feature REQUESTS - n8chavez - 03-23-2025

So? Just update the program, and the issue is gone. You installed HBS in the first place, so I'm assuming you don't have a restricted group policy. And what I meant was the ability to restore will not be taken away. Who cares about the version number; focus on abilities. In the extreme case, let's say it's been 12 months and for whatever reason you haven't updated, in that case you can still use a PE and reimage that way. Essentially, don't look for problems where there are none.

This conversation should be taken to the thread about the older versions https://www.easyuefi.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=2327

Please be sure to take a closer look at what people are posting to better understand the problem.

Do you have any links to back it up?

Links? Not sure what you mean but maybe this will help https://www.macrium.com/blog/macrium-reflect-and-macrium-sitemanager-offline-activation

RE: Feature REQUESTS - aldist - 03-23-2025

Oh no, that's not it at all. I need links that confirm that pirated versions of Macrium Reflect corrupt the data that the program backs up.
