Repair WMI - Keith Weisshar - 04-09-2025
Why do I lose all the network adapters under Advanced network settings in Settings app after using Repair WMI. Repair WMI also breaks Internet Connection Sharing which allows the binding of Ethernet adapter to Wi-Fi for some Ethernet devices that lack Wi-Fi connectivity and also deletes the virtual machine's network adapter such as Hyper-V Virtual Switch Extension Adapter. I had to clean install Windows to fix Advanced network settings missing network adapters in Settings.

It's strange that it doesn't have any problems on our side. In fact, this feature only executes the commands to rebuild WMI described in the links below, and you may need to do it manually if you have any problems.

Rebuilding WMI breaks Hyper-V and HGS.

Please replace the BackupUtils.exe in the bin folder under the installation directory to resolve the issue of Hyper-V and HGS caused by rebuilding WMI.
