Operation failed. (0x00000000200AE0000)

Apologies in advance if this has been addressed already but I did search and didnt see any relevant posts.

I am attempting to clone my existing windows 7 enterprise install to an external USB drive and it repeatedly fails [System Clone was not successfull] with the above error.

I was able to open a command prompt and verify that both disks are visible [diskpart; list disk]

I noticed after each failed attempt, the destination disk ends up in "unallocated" [partitions wiped out] state and the tool wouldnt accept a blank/unformatted destination disk.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried several times without luck including uninstalling and re-installing the tool - please let me know if there is anything else to try.

Please run chkdsk to scan the source boot partition and see if it have file system errors. If Yes, fix it and try again.

I am afraid "chkdsk" of the source disk didnt help - is there another method to clone my existing installation to the external disk and make it bootable?

And, one other suggestion/request - can you make the tool/WinToUSB be restartable from the command prompt or the UI? Thanks

There are bad sectors on the source boot partition, WinToUSB doesn't support it yet. Please wait for the next version of WinToUSB, we will try to fix it.
What is restartable mean?
