Version 4.5 issues
#1
4.5 appears (to me) to require elevation

"C:\Program Files\Hasleo\Hasleo Backup Suite\bin\BackupCmdUI.exe" /a run /g 271508EA-049D-4D83-B053-809B5F1DA92E /t 1
worked  without elevation with 4.4

Running the 4.5 GUI without elevation hangs the program and the only way to close is the task manager.

I don't see this on my computer.
Check that Hasleo Backup Suite Service starts automatically when you boot your computer, it is needed for HBS to work.
HBS running with user privileges cannot start the service and you get a problem.
HBS running with elevated privileges starts the service and there is no problem.
By default, HBS should start with user privileges because the service is assumed to have started successfully.
For manual backups (without scheduling), it doesn't matter how you have the service start.

Interesting... I think I will do a fresh install rather than an upgrade install to see if that makes the difference.
I had forgotten about the backup service issue.

Thanks for the hints

Followup:

Fresh install got the service properly running so
"C:\Program Files\Hasleo\Hasleo Backup Suite\bin\BackupMainUI.exe"
runs without any additional elevation.

However,
"C:\Program Files\Hasleo\Hasleo Backup Suite\bin\BackupCmdUI.exe"
still seems to require elevation (for me). I will test further.

BackupMainUI.exe and BackupCmdUI.exe doesn't need elevated privileges, could it be that antivirus software is interfering with it?

Tested  without anti-virus running... same issues (only runs elevated otherwise locks up)

I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times but the problem remains.

The final solution that did work:
   * uninstall  AND remove the HasLeo program directory AND all its contents
   * reinstall
that worked!

Some file must have been corrupted and not replaced by re-installation perhaps?
