New images, restoring old ones. I never leave any imaging software installed on my PC to hog resources, phone home, and run services, etc.
For me the whole point of imaging is to be able to go back to that "pristine", just installed state in a few seconds. I don't keep my actual important data on my Windows partition anyway. It's stored elsewhere with my backup images. Anything I am "working on" gets saved to the external and/or internal backup drive on the regular. If my drive dies or I get malware or whatever, the most I would lose is my last game save, and the last 2 junk emails I received and the like.
You can even make a small partition (mine is 756 MB) and simply copy the contents of the rescue.iso to it and boot right into that so you don't need to fumble with a flash drive or optical media.
That's a really good strategy. But it doesn't excuse the mind baffling decisions to stop the program from working after a used by date. Yes you can get around it but WTF is it there in the first place. Just make it work like a normal program.
In order to stop this kind of discussion, which does not really help to improve the quality of the product, we will stop the "forced update" mode in the version before the paid version is released. However, please note that we may reintroduce this mode after the paid version is released, and we will only provide support for the latest version.
Once again, we will never force individual users to buy the product, and people who think the product is worth buying will naturally buy it. Honestly there have been users who wanted to buy some licenses and our response was "it's free, if you think it's worth paying for then please buy it in the future", so we have never charged anyone a penny so far.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
