IMAP Notifications
#1
Hi

All my email addresses use IMAP rather than SMTP. Is there any way to configure backup notifications via IMAP?

Hi @Russ!  I think you're mixing things up.  IMAP is a protocol used for RECEIVING email, not sending it.  SMTP is a protocol used for SENDING email, they are mutually exclusive.

Hasleo offers only an email SENDING protocol for use with their notifications (the application isn't receiving anything)... the user of this service needs to supply their validated SMTP service for use in sending emails, Hasleo doesn't supply the service.  Other than Gmail, most email services offer access to SMTP protocol variations and it looks as though Hasleo offers most of those variations.

Maybe you could fill us in on the specific email services you are interested in using...

Froggie is right that IMAP is used to receive emails rather than send them, and that most mail systems support SMTP.
