File Backup doesn't see network shares / mounts
#1
I want to backup parts of my NAS but HBS doesn't see the share nor does it see the mount on Z:\. It only sees 1 (unimportant) of 3 shares. I tried it from two different computers with the same result.
See screenshot!

I'm sorry that the current version doesn't support listing mounted remote drives, we'll improve it as soon as possible. Regarding the issue of shared folders not being listed, we recommend that you enable Windows support for SMB v1.0.

I enabled SMB 1.0 on both computers.
On the Win 10 machine it took several restarts of HSB but now it shows everything.

Completely different behaviour on the Win 11 machine: Alternately it shows nothing or its own network or the sat receiver, sometimes both but never the NAS, which is the one I'd need.
Several sytem restarts didn't help either.

Time for miracles:
After 2 days not touching the win 11 machine (it runs 24/7 as video server) it now shows all network shares on HBS.
Maybe HBS needed some time alone for its decision.

Enumerating computers over the network is many times unstable, and that same situation exists even with Windows Explorer. It seems better to give the user the ability to specify the computer (IP or computer name) to connect to.

Every computer in my network has its unique name and IP. Nevertheless the shares didn't show up in HBS - now they do.
I know the problem in Explorer, but there I can type in the name or IP and it will show up. If it doesn't show up by itself in HBS there is no chance to access it.

Anyhow - it's working now and I thank you again for your support!

Seems it depends on how HBS feels on a particular day. After showing me all network shares for 2 days it now fell back to the previous behaviour showing me only one or some shares or nothing. In any case it doesn't show the NAS.

Not sure why, maybe a feature should be implemented to add NAS and remote sharing.

Please try this version below to see if the problem still persists?
