Hasleo iso-ventoy-uefi/legacy bios computer
#1
Before version 4.9.5 I could make a hasleo iso on a uefi computer, put it on a ventoy usb key. The iso booted on the uefi computer of course and also on a legacy bios computer. With the latest hasleo version the iso does not boot on the legacy bios computer. I have to do the opposite, make the iso on the legacy bios computer, and it boots from a ventoy usb key on a uefi and legacy bios computer.

This is not really a problem. I would like to know if it is possible for all future hasleo builds to make an iso from a uefi or legacy bios computer always work on both types of bios from ventoy, to avoid making 2 isos for each type of bios.

Kind regards.

In the previous version, the ISO created on a UEFI system worked for both UEFI and legacy BIOS computers. Now, it seems that you need to create separate ISOs for each BIOS type.

Are you referring to the V5.0 Beta? I tested that the ISO created with V5.0 Beta on my UEFI computer still boots up properly on the BIOS computer.

No, not the V5.0 Beta version, the 4.9.5, I will wait for the next builds until 5.0. If it doesn't work I will come back and say it here.

Not quite I can create a legacy bios iso that boots on a uefi computer.

I tested with the latest available v5.0 beta + Windows 10 and for me, I was able to boot the ISO in Ventoy on an old notebook with BIOS. But Ventoy might be picky with different PCs.

Have you tried to copy the image directly on a usb stick? Does that work maybe?

I made a rescue disk on a USB stick, it doesn't work on the legacy bios computer either.

I'll wait for version 5.0 stable since it works for you and the admin.

Have you seen the WinPE loading progress bar? Or does the computer prompt any error messages?

I have the progress bar that ends at 100%, never any error messages in all the tests I have done.

No problems with V4.9.5? We will check for recent changes.
