Feature REQUESTS

You're on your own on that one. Most forums have stringent rules regarding the discussion of piracy.

@aldist - the poster was referring to ANIT-PIRACY measures added to REFLECT, not pirated versions... probably their added MIG feature.  As we know, it did nothing to hurt either the program or its IMAGE DATA... just made image mgmt a little more inconvenient for the user.

Yes I was referring to their anti-piracy measures. Specifically machine ID. DRM always hurts preservation. It's why I buy all my games DRM free for that very reason.

This conversation should be taken to the thread about the older versions https://www.easyuefi.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=2327

Please be sure to take a closer look at what people are posting to better understand the problem.

I feel like you're not reading what I'm saying, so I'm just going to stop.  You're trying to make a problem where there is not one, and posting all the links you want will not validate your point.   There is no problem.  Reread and comprehend what I've already said.

Oh really? So if you're unable to update HBS past the used by date thus you're not able to use it; you're not able to create new backups or retrieve your data. You don't see a problem with this. Also stop derailing the conversation and use the proper threading regarding the use of older versions. Thank you.

I say (and this is exactly what I do) install whatever version you like, make a rescue.iso (that does not "expire"), then use it to restore a backup image from before the imaging program was installed (or just uninstall it) and use the ISO for everything. New images, restoring old ones. I never leave any imaging software installed on my PC to hog resources, phone home, and run services, etc.

For me the whole point of imaging is to be able to go back to that "pristine", just installed state in a few seconds. I don't keep my actual important data on my Windows partition anyway. It's stored elsewhere with my backup images. Anything I am "working on" gets saved to the external and/or internal backup drive on the regular. If my drive dies or I get malware or whatever, the most I would lose is my last game save, and the last 2 junk emails I received and the like.

You can even make a small partition (mine is 756 MB) and simply copy the contents of the rescue.iso to it and boot right into that so you don't need to fumble with a flash drive or optical media.

Would it be possible to have a screen that signals that the backup is running if scheduled on shutdown?

That's a really good strategy. But it doesn't excuse the mind baffling decisions to stop the program from working after a used by date. Yes you can get around it but WTF is it there in the first place. Just make it work like a normal program.

In order to stop this kind of discussion, which does not really help to improve the quality of the product, we will stop the "forced update" mode in the version before the paid version is released. However, please note that we may reintroduce this mode after the paid version is released, and we will only provide support for the latest version.

Once again, we will never force individual users to buy the product, and people who think the product is worth buying will naturally buy it. Honestly there have been users who wanted to buy some licenses and our response was "it's free, if you think it's worth paying for then please buy it in the future", so we have never charged anyone a penny so far.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

This is a request for adding the "Edit" option to the Actions button drop-down window on the WINPE version of the program. Currently, the installed program allows for importing a task from an image file and the user can edit the task settings...

Actions button, Edit, Backup options, Advanced

 and select the desired options...

x Allow comments when manually executing the backup task
x Check the integrity of the backup image files on completion

which can be saved to the task. This way, the "Enter image comment" windows appears before executing the back up, and the image file is checked for errors after the backup is completed.

The WINPE differs in that a task can be imported from an image file, but the "Edit" option does not exist in the Actions button drop-down window, and the task settings cannot be changed. The backup starts immediately with no way to enable options, such as to add a backup comment or to automatically check the integrity of the backup.

 Thank you for your consideration.
