Image restored after daylight saving time, time was again changed back an hour
#1
Hi

A few weeks ago, I restored an image that was created well after the DST (daylight savings time) change, after windows 10 Pro already automatically adjusted an hour back.

Oddly, I noticed after the restore, the time was an hour earlier than it actually was, as if Hasleo missed DST and restored to an hour earlier.

I tried another image created after the daylight  savings time change, and again, my clock was off, 1 hour earlier, and I had to both times resync the clock to correct to the current time.

Anyone else notice this oddity?  I thought it strange as to why or how this could have happened after taking the image after Windows already adjusted for the time change in my location. (an hour back).

My other imagers had no issues such as this, just found it odd, as to what Hasleo was perhaps missing in the backups.?

Appreciate any ideas. I am using version 4.9.3

Thanks much!

The backed-up data is definitely no problem, otherwise you can't boot Windows. Please describe your operation steps in detail (e.g. provide some screenshots, which you can send to [email protected]), maybe we can analyze and find out the cause of this problem, thank you.

Thank you for your reply!

On November 3 this year at 2:00AM, daylight savings time ended, in which we had to turn our clocks back 1 hour.  https://www.timeanddate.com/time/change/usa

Operating systems in my case, is Windows 10 Pro which automatically changes its system time, in the spring sets its clock an hour ahead, and this year when DST ended clocks get set back 1 hour as mentioned above on November 3 at 2:00am.

I created a full disk/partition image after the time change, later on the day November 3 Windows already changed the time.

I had to restore the OS drive C: of that disk in partition mode, all went perfect.

When it booted to the desktop, I noticed the time was an hour earlier than it should have been. This happened to me twice, using another image created after November 3rd, I restored and the time was again an hour too early after the restore.

All I can figure is somehow the program was not backing up the time related information from windows, and windows after bootup was again performing DST time change.

I ended up just going into "Adjust time and date" within settings and clicking "Sync now" to return the clock to the correct time.

I couldn't understand how this could happen, not a big deal, just confused as to why Windows auto DST time change was not being saved within my image created after the fact.

Hope that helps, and thank you for any ideas and for your reply.
