Backup Suite clone to usb
#1
Is there a feature comparison between Backup Suite and Disk Clone?

Does backup suite include all features of disk clone?

Can backup suite create a full main disk clone onto a usb ssd drive?

Can backup suite and disk clone both be installed on same drive without issues?

The reason I ask.. in addition to regular weekly images, I am also wanting to clone each month or so the main ssd in my laptop to an identical ssd which is installed in a usb enclosure for convenience. In the event of main drive failure, the clone ssd can be swapped in to the laptop. Some cloning software won’t clone to usb though.

After testing a while back, the cloning capability of HBS is identical to "Hasleo Disk Clone."

Thanks for the reply. A while ago I tried to clone laptop system disk to usb ssd with Hasleo Disk Clone free, but it would not do it.  I think the message said I needed to use Win2USB (or whatever it’s called) to clone to a usb device.

I’ve recently noticed that Disk Clone professional states it will clone to usb, whereas the free version will not.

So when you say the cloning capability of HSB is identical to HDC, do you mean identical to the free version of HDC or the professional version?

Have you cloned a disk to USB with HSB?

I have run some cloning tests on various versions of HBS.
I can confirm that recent versions don't allow cloning a disk to an external USB disk.
Even booting to the WinPE USB rescue environment doesn't allow it on recent versions.
I had to go back to a WinPE created with 4.5.1 before I could clone a disk to an external USB disk.
4.9.5 and none of the V5 WinPE rescue disks seem to allow cloning to external USB disk.

Hope this helps. Not sure why this feature has been removed, unless it's going to become a Paid feature only.

No, this feature has always been restricted in Hasleo Backup Suite. You should know that Hasleo Backup Suite are free backup and cloning software, and the feature of restoring/cloning Windows to a USB drive conflicts with one of the main features of WinToUSB. We mainly rely on revenue from other software to support the continued development of Hasleo Disk Clone and Hasleo Backup Suite , so the feature of restoring/cloning Windows to a USB drive has been restricted in Hasleo Backup Suite.

Regarding the paid version, we have always said that a paid version will be released in the future, please refer to:
