"Interprocess communication failure" error occurred when opening an image file
#1
Just ran into this error. "interprocess communication failure"

I have been doing some experimenting that has required bare metal restores
Using the same boot usb and stored backup stores were successful at least twice

Now I get the above error.

I've tried the recommended restart process
I've tried alternative boot usb stick from another computer
HBS boots properly and it's only when I select the backup source
file that I get the error.

Any suggestions?

Not sure what happened to the subject line...

I found another USB boot (5.0 beta 1) and I didn't get
the Interprocess error and the restore was successful.
I will do further checking to see where I went astray.

I will recreate the boot iso from the restored image
and check that out.

the 20250225 version iso boot worked perfectly
No "interprocess communication failure"

Thanks

Could you fix the subject line of this thread to be more informative?

I just posted about this before seeing this thread, sorry.

Solution/workaround for me was = don't browse for an image file from the "Home" tab, do it from the "Restore" tab.
