Backup Notification
#1
Hi.

I have the Enterprise edition. One thing I don't want is to have Hasleo app bring up a window that says the backup failed. I already have backup notifications going to email. Is there a way to suppress this or do I need to script/request an option to prevent this from coming up?

I didn't see anything in the options of the job to stop this.

Hi and welcome to the Hasleo forum!

Currently in HBS the tab "notification" in the options menu of your backup job can only be used to setup e-mail notification.

You can deactivate the notifications for "Hasleo Backup Suite" in Windows settings under System / Notifications / Hasleo Backup Suite. But that will only suppress the toast notifications for starting/finishing a job. When a job fails you'll still get the popup in the center of the screen.

That popup was added in one of the updates this year, AFAIK on a user's request in this forum. Most people set up HBS and then forget to regularly check whether their backups are succeeding, so making backup errors more prominent was probably a good idea.

Maybe there should be a setting in options to suppress those error popups during scheduled runs. And maybe another option to also suppress toast notifications during scheduled runs altogether for those who prefer silent backup operations.

Let's see what @admin (Hasleo staff) thinks about these ideas Smile

@al3x's explanation is entirely accurate. This popup window was introduced in response to a feature request from a forum user.

The only way to disable it is to add a dedicated setting within the program's options. Disabling notifications for "Hasleo Backup Suite" in Windows Settings will not suppress this popup, it only affects the system toast notifications that appear in the lower‑right corner of the screen.

We will add a setting to disable this popup window in the program's global settings in a future release.
