  Release Notes
Posted by: Froggie - 02-23-2023, 10:11 AM - Forum: Hasleo Backup Suite (Free Windows Backup & Restore Software) - Replies (2)

Apparently HBS v3.4 is now available... but without RELEASE NOTES, it's impossibly to know what has been addressed/changed along the way.

Maybe I just can't find them... any help, greatly appreciated!

Problem Restoring from Network Share 0x006D000600000000
Posted by: rpaz - 02-15-2023, 02:18 AM - Forum: Hasleo Backup Suite (Free Windows Backup & Restore Software) - Replies (7)

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and a recent user of Hasleo Backup Suite v3.2 Blush

I successfully create a full image backup of a computer that is in UEFI mode to a Network Share, now I'm booting from the Rescue Disk created on the same machine and want to do a Restore, but it doesn't work because I got the error 0x006D000600000000 Object is not initialized after entering the network credentials to access the network share!

Before accessing the network share I open the Windows Command Prompt and mapped a network driver using:
net use h: \\srv-lab\d$\imagens

The command authenticated successfully.

On the Hasleo Backup Suite I can access the H: drive, create folders, etc. without problem.

On the BackupMainUI.log there is this:

Code:
2023-02-14 11:40:18 T:000009EC .\UIPublic.cpp 4769 nRet=0x006D000600000000
2023-02-14 11:40:18 T:000009EC .\UISyncExecute.cpp 3268 nRet=0x006D000600000000
2023-02-14 11:40:18 T:000007E4 .\UISyncExecute.cpp 3296 nRet=0x006D000600000000
2023-02-14 11:40:18 T:000007E4 .\EnterNetConnectPasswordDlg.cpp 238 nRet=0x006D000600000000
2023-02-14 11:43:44 T:000007E4 .\UIPublic.cpp 5254 nRet=0x1485001000000000
2023-02-14 11:43:44 T:000007E4 .\RestorePage.cpp 181 nRet=0x1485001000000000
2023-02-14 11:44:10 T:000007E4 .\MainWnd.cpp 1921 nRet=0x0780000D00000000

Any idea how to pass this error?

TIA

  Different options / documentation?
Posted by: cer - 02-11-2023, 05:18 AM - Forum: Hasleo Backup Suite (Free Windows Backup & Restore Software) - Replies (1)

Hello everyone!

I am wondering about the different backup options or some general differences and look for a proper understanding of backup strategies. I can't find any proper documentation other than the online user guides, but they're very practical or hands on and don't give any further information.

So:
How does a system backup differ from a hard disk backup? On a conservative 1 disk/partition system, a system backup isn't smaller than a disc backup, so what's the difference?

I imagine that the different clones provide files as they are on the disk/partition, while the backup options create hasleo image files that need to be handled by hasleo.

How do you backup your computer containing personal data and some software licenses: Do you regularly create system backups? Backup the whole disk? Or just a system backup once and then file backups?

Thanks everyone
Chris

Emergency disk created with Hasleo Backup Suite does not work in VMware
Posted by: Marcy - 02-10-2023, 10:02 PM - Forum: Hasleo Backup Suite (Free Windows Backup & Restore Software) - Replies (4)

Hello guys,

I used Hasleo Backup Suite within a VMware Windows 2019 virtual machine and created an Emergency Disk ISO-file, which I uploaded to a VMware VMFS datastore and tried to boot from that ISO but without luck.

In the second round I added the disk driver lsi_sas.inf (lsi_sas.sys) and network driver vmxnet3.inf (vmxnet3.sys) to the Emergency Disk ISO-file but the result was the same.

If you boot from that Emergency Disk ISO-image you get a Windows logo and that's it. Waited several minutes but it did not progress further.

Have you ever checked, if your Emergency DISK ISO-file works with Hypervisor, like VMware or Hyper-V ?

Would be fine, if that could be fixed in the next release!

Thanks and best regards,
Marcy

  Clone WinToTUsb drive
Posted by: Asphodelus - 02-04-2023, 11:54 PM - Forum: WinToUSB (Best Windows To Go Creator) - Replies (1)

Hello everyone,

I have 2 SSD hard drives (500GB and 1TB) with windows (one for programming, one for music creation)
It has already happened to me that one of them crashes, impossible to repair it with the windows tools at startup (so I was forgotten to reinstall EVERYTHING, it took me a long time)
So, I had done a test by cloning one of the SSD disks on another SSD (with EaseUS), but impossible to boot the disk where the backup was (windows error before its launch, blue screen if I remember correctly)

What solution do I have? How can I back up my 2 hard drives properly?
The ideal would be to have a 2TB backup hard drive by making a 500GB partition for the backup of disk 1 and another of 1TB for disk 2 Smile
and...if ever one of my SSD crashes, recover the backup on a partition of my backup HD to re-clone on my bootable SSD

Thank you in advance for your help!

  Stuck part way through
Posted by: rae_it - 02-02-2023, 01:31 AM - Forum: Hasleo Disk Clone (Free Windows Migration and Disk/Partition Cloning Software) - Replies (4)

I have a VM with a disk I cannot get to shrink because of unmovable files, I created a new smaller disk and tried to use disk clone "system clone" to clone everything to the new smaller disk  as a workaround.
It got to around 40% pretty quick and then stopped working, I left it overnight with no progress.

Startup error 0xc000000e after wipe and restore
Posted by: Keith Weisshar - 01-31-2023, 12:03 AM - Forum: Hasleo Backup Suite (Free Windows Backup & Restore Software) - Replies (11)

Why do I get a startup error 0xc000000e which indicates a required device isn't connected or can't be accessed if I create a full disk backup image from the emergency disk and then wipe the entire drive and then restore the full disk backup back to the same drive.  Does the disk signature or GUID change if the drive is wiped and then restored?  System backup can only be done from within Windows and cannot be done from emergency disk.  What's the difference between system backup and full disk backup?  This issue doesn't occur if I do a full backup and restore using Macrium Reflect rescue disk.
