Running Windows 10 from a Ext. SSD using Hasleo WindowsToUSB...???
Posted by: brianpowell - 02-02-2024, 08:20 AM - Forum: WinToUSB (Best Windows To Go Creator) - Replies (2)

Hello, currently I like to run windows 10 from an external SSD when using a laptop. I use Hasleo WindowsToUSB in order to install windows 10 to my external SSD.

I usually keep the SSD as 1 partition scheme and just install it as usual per the instructions when using the software. The problem with this is that I usually have to plug in a second external hard drive in order to download and save files that I do not want to be stored on the SSD.
Do you know if its possible to partition the SSD into 2 partitions and still be able to install Windows 10 on one of the partitions using Hasleo WindowsToUSB, while also having the other partition as a storage drive that will show up in Windows 10 when using the same external hard drive as the boot drive?

Thanks in advance

Can we make an ISO of two drives (D and E)
Posted by: doer - 01-31-2024, 11:31 AM - Forum: WinToUSB (Best Windows To Go Creator) - Replies (2)

I'd like to throw my actual Win7 Live USB content to Ventoy. But I would first have to create an ISO file of my Win7 Live USB. Can we make an ISO image of two drives (D and E) as we have in the Live USB structure? This is my question.

I know I could throw to Ventoy "plain" Win7 ISO. Plain - I mean, without my settings, personalization, and my content. It's just a fresh ISO. But then, installing third-party programs is time-consuming and a pain in the neck to make settings to my liking.

Just to create Win7 To Go through USB 3.x. Is it ok?
Posted by: doer - 01-31-2024, 04:02 AM - Forum: WinToUSB (Best Windows To Go Creator) - Replies (1)

I know that having Win7 Live on an external drive, we are not supposed to mess through port USB 3.x.
But what about creating Win7 To Go through USB 3.x by WintoUSB? Can we use port USB 3.x just to create Win7 To Go, or still not? That way, it would be faster.

  suggestion: restoring files overwrite message
Posted by: JayDee - 01-30-2024, 07:01 AM - Forum: Hasleo Backup Suite (Free Windows Backup & Restore Software) - Replies (7)

When restoring files or folder, I would like to see a confirmation message if the file already exists.

It would also include an option to do it for all other subsequent overwrites so it would not be necessary to repeat the confirmation.

  Reinstalling
Posted by: Bullwinkle55 - 01-29-2024, 02:12 PM - Forum: Hasleo Backup Suite (Free Windows Backup & Restore Software) - Replies (2)

Hi , new member here my name is Dan

I installed the backup suite and had a hard drive failure the next day, losing every thing on that drive.
I had installed the software to my D drive, the one that failed.

I tried to reinstall the program but was told to uninstall the  previously installed version.
I tried to uninstall it but it was on the drive i lost and it said "not found try again".

I'm not sure what to do now as it wont let me do a reinstall without uninstalling a program that is not there.

would appreciate any suggestions.  Thanks  ...Dan

Setting: Reboot after Recovery as default
Posted by: Andy - 01-25-2024, 09:50 PM - Forum: Hasleo Backup Suite (Free Windows Backup & Restore Software) - Replies (5)

Greetings, team!

Could you please tell me how to change the default option when I do a restore?
If I restore a PC remotely and forget to select "reboot", I have to go to the PC to close the PE boot.
I always want a reboot after restore.

Thanks in advance

  remembered credentials for NAS
Posted by: JayDee - 01-24-2024, 09:29 AM - Forum: Hasleo Backup Suite (Free Windows Backup & Restore Software) - Replies (25)

Once a profile backup to a NAS has been setup the credentials are "remembered".

1. Is there an option to force credential entry each time? In other words, no stored credentials.

2. where and how are the credentials stored ? (I would like to understand any security issues that might be involved.)

Backup Failed - Disk or Partition Space is Insufficient

Why isn't the software removing old backups to make space for the new backup?

Path not found on existing file backup profile
Posted by: JayDee - 01-22-2024, 03:27 AM - Forum: Hasleo Backup Suite (Free Windows Backup & Restore Software) - Replies (1)

A routine call on an existing file backup profile (that has been running successfully for many weeks) unexpectedly reported "path not found". It was not clear whether it was the source or destination path. (perhaps that report message could be improved)

I clicked "open Location" successfully so concluded it must be the source path.
I browsed the source tree and everything looked normal.
I then unselected the source folder and reselected it.

The profile then ran successfully.

Not sure what caused the issue... something on my computer I guess.
Just thought I would report it tho'

File Backup restore in Hasleo Backup Suite 4.0.0.0
Posted by: Marcy - 01-18-2024, 10:22 PM - Forum: Hasleo Backup Suite (Free Windows Backup & Restore Software) - Replies (10)

Hello Hasleo Team,

today I utilized the 'File Backup' function under Backup in Hasleo Backup Suite 4.0.0.0 and it works quite nicely. Unfortunately, if I try to restore the data to another partition (not the original location), Hasleo Backup Suite creates a directory with the original drive letter followed by a '+'-sign and restores data inside, allthough I decided to restore data saved from drive D:\ into the root of drive T:\ in this case scenario.

Could you please change this behavior and instead let Hasleo Backup Suite restore the data in to the root of a partition and not create a sub-directory on the destination partition named 'D+' ?

Thanks for any reply.

Regards,
Marcy
