  bitlocker features:
Posted by: potw - 02-25-2021, 12:20 PM - Forum: Hasleo BitLocker Anywhere (Encrypt Windows C: drive and data partitions, For Windows, Mac and Linux) - Replies (1)

Save and restore window position??? is this trying to save all my programs windows or just the software itself??

Unlocking 2nd drive (D:)  every time the pc restarts (NOT at boot up, i actually like that option more security) i have to enter file explorer to "unlock" said drive
meanwhile the system drive (C:) is always unlocked upon restart, is there a feature to keep BOTH drives unlocked every time the pc is done booting??

\////\ i only ask because every time i restart my pc or just shutting it off for the night, i wake up to turn on my pc and on my home screen all my program icons which are on my (D:) drive  are white pages and non recoverable unless a entire system reset AGAIN to refresh icon data just to have to unlock the drive again etc. etc. if you know what i mean.

WinToUSB wakes up from sleep automatically
Posted by: schlangz - 02-15-2021, 10:53 AM - Forum: WinToUSB (Best Windows To Go Creator) - Replies (3)

Hi, I encounter the problem that my WinToUSB Windows 10 (1903) won't stay in sleep - it automatically wakes up after a few seconds.
When I check with "powercfg -lastwake" I can see that it is caused by the xHCI (USB 3.0 host controller) where the USB drive is connected.

Any ideas how to solve this? Thanks.

  License WinToUSB Pro
Posted by: Jamesmck - 02-10-2021, 12:51 PM - Forum: WinToUSB (Best Windows To Go Creator) - Replies (1)

Just want to be sure about the 2-computer limit for WinToUSB Pro.  I take this to mean two installations.  I can put one registered copy of WinToUSB on a USB drive and the other copy of the software on a computer, both in the same household.  Correct?

  clone existing WinToUSB as backup
Posted by: jaswmck - 01-19-2021, 01:08 AM - Forum: WinToUSB (Best Windows To Go Creator) - Replies (1)

I am aware of the procedure to clone an existing Win 10 USB to another disk as backup, but have a question.  I have enabled the hard disk of the host computer in my existing USB.  Should this be disabled before creating a new clone or might the software do this automatically?

When using an ISO as an image file in WinToUSB and selecting Home edition, the following error is received (see attached)

Note this Microsoft developer ISO contains other images of Windows 10, however I am selecting the Home edition.
Tried with Windows 10 versions: 1809, 1903, 2004

  "Disk read error"
Posted by: Hardfg5000 - 12-10-2020, 05:08 AM - Forum: WinToUSB (Best Windows To Go Creator) - Replies (3)

Hello, so I've been trying to get a Windows 8.1 Pro WinToUSB portable hard drive (Sandisk 1TB portable hard drive) to work with my laptop but when trying to run on my laptop, it says "A disk read error occurred Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart". It works just fine on my main PC (in fact, I am using it rn). The hard drive is an MBR drive, which was recommended by this post: Hasleo Software Forums - Disk read error (easyuefi.com) but MBR still doesn't work. On the laptop, Windows is installed as a GPT but when I try to use GPT with WinToUSB, I get an ACPI error and when searching it up, it says to allow the program through an anti virus or remove the program, yet when I did it, it still errored out. I have tried everything, googling everywhere, resetting the BIOS on the laptop but it just won't boot! Could the fact that it is a Hackintosh using Clover device affect it? I am genuinely out of ideas at this point.

  Support of new Windows versions
Posted by: Raptor - 12-09-2020, 12:08 AM - Forum: WinToUSB (Best Windows To Go Creator) - Replies (1)

Hello,

i saw in the changelog that some releases specifically add support for a new version of windows (e.g. for example version 5.8 add support for windows 20H2).

What kind of improvement are done to the sofware with these new version (for example 5.8) compared to the previous ones (for example 5.6) for the process of cloning an existing windows 20H2 installation?

The improvements are confined to the wintousb software itself or some improvement are also applied to the resulting cloned portable Windows?

Thanks

Superior performance of Windows 10 clone
Posted by: jaswmck - 11-29-2020, 07:36 AM - Forum: WinToUSB (Best Windows To Go Creator) - Replies (3)

I have used WinToUSB to clone Windows 10 home to an external SSD with USB 3.0. I find overall performance to be superior to that of the computer from which it was cloned  Initial bootup is much quicker, as is waking from “sleep.”  Also, it feels like there does not seem to be as much background junk going on. The clone USB seems equally as speedy on a different computer from which it was cloned. I would like to understand why this is happening. My imagination?  Any thoughts?

  API Error
Posted by: bobmook - 11-26-2020, 12:50 AM - Forum: EasyUEFI - Replies (1)

EasyUEFI starts with the error; Failed to run system API.(0x00CB0015017E0000)

After that any attempt to use the program results in the same error. I see this was an issue three years ago. Has anything been done to resolve it in this time?
This is occurs using an Asus Windows 10 installation which has been kept updated I've attached the log file
